Cuesheet
  • Description
    • A .cue file (cuesheet) is a standard text file
    • For compatibility reasons, should be saved in Windows-1252 (ANSI) encoding.
  • Filename
    • Name your cuesheets to be exactly the same filename as the file you're linking it to!

Cuesheet Parts
  • Cuesheet Header
    • Description
      • Cuesheet header consists of 3 parts: performer, title, and the filename. CueNation titles the cuesheets by combining Performer & Title fields with a dash.

          • In case of a non-stop event that extends over multiple days, DateAired should be the date the event started.
          • In case of a live recording, DateAired is the event's start date in Time Zone the event was held.
        • ExtraInfo notes

With the current design, what happens with sorting if cues for events such as ASOT 550 were like this:

Performer: Bobina
Title: A State of Trance Episode 550.6 (2011-03-31) (Live @ Brabanthallen in Den Bosch, The Netherlands) (A State of Yellow) (Part 8)

Instead of

Performer: Armin van Buuren
Title: A State of Trance Episode 550.6 (2011-03-31) (Live @ Brabanthallen in Den Bosch, The Netherlands) (A State of Yellow) (Part 8 - Bobina)

The cue would still belong in the A State of Trance category but the cue performer reflects who the DJ is for that part of the show rather than in the title, which makes more sense to me than saying the performer is Armin van Buuren.

I end up doing this with my tags in foobar so I can find sets by DJ.

Would VenueName include the club night as well?

Example:
Live @ We Love Sundays, Space in Ibiza, Spain on 2011-07-31

or should it be:
Live @ We Love Sundays at Space in Ibiza, Spain on 2011-07-31

I've used the latter, but you probably knew that already.

I could accept this if the sets were moved to another category than "asot", maybe "asot550". For us it's always Armin that presents ASOT, though he's not the "performer". Maybe I have to re-think this, for me it's not a problem as I delete sets after a few months anyway.

even though you're technically right and we should put Bobina in the performer field since, well, he's the only DJ in that cue but due to bad old habbits, stick to using the category's DJ name, unless that category is Various or one of those categories where DJ's are too diverse. ASOT is 99% AvB so I'd stick with Armin van Buuren for the performer.

I don't see a problem with either but me thinks the 2nd is more appropriate.

Perhaps it's one for the future, obviously it would involve some cleaning up of some current cues.

Like you said 99% of the time it is correct but it's the special events and when other DJ's takeover a show where it makes more sense to not have the performer as the DJ the show belongs to.

Have we got any preferred standard for talking bits in shows? Latest episode of Jori Hulkkonen's show has some substantial chatty bits between most tracks.
